Sophie St. Clair’s 1st Ever Grand Prix Highlights Impressive Sterckx Stables Showing At Flintridge

In Sophie St. Clair’s first ever Grand Prix, she placed 7th in an ultra competitive class of 30 riders on her horse Ottavia des Hayettes. The course was among the toughest we had ever seen at Flintridge, with no rider going through with a clear. St Clair was well on her way to her a blue ribbon victory had it not been for a rail down on the 2nd to last fence. Separately St. Clair won a $250 1.3m jumpers class.

Julia Otter showed tremendous experience showing her new horse Quintos de Kreisker which had just arrived from Europe and had gone immediately to Flintridge and won a blue ribbon in its first U.S. competition in the $1,000 CWD 1.2m jumpers.

Avery Kim got a 5th place in her last class before the Masters Grand Slam on her pony Joel. Claire Williamson and Sarrah Durrer took 3rd and fourth on Mindy and Devondu Haras des Barrages in .8m jumpers. Ashley Fung took home a 4th place in a competitive field of 8 in the $500 Jumper Classic.

Sydney Flashman took home 2 first place ribbons in the .9 meter jumpers in very competitive classes, which featured fellow Sterckx Stables rider Sophie Root-Stevens, who took 8th.

Young Hannah Sims took home a strong 3rd place showing in cross rail equitation. Gigi Timoner took 2 second place ribbons, and 2 first place ribbons in cross rail equitation. Indeed the future of Sterckx Stables is bright.
