Sophie St. Clair Highlighted in Latest Zone 10 Update

From USJHA:

“Competing at the LA Masters was so surreal,” Karrie Rufer (Diane Yeager, trainer) commented. “The caliber of horses and riders was impressive. I have to admit to being star struck a couple of times.” Sophie St. Claire (David Sterckx, trainer) agreed with Karrie’s sentiments wholeheartedly. “All of my idols were not just at the show, but they were in the same warm up ring! I was literally brushing elbows with them, meeting them, watching the show with them, and glimpsing their strategy and preparation. It was amazing, and to see the top riders in the world compete at the highest level was inspiring.” Zone 10 was well represented by riders such as Richard Spooner, Julia Otter, Mitchell Endicott, Sophie St. Clair, Alyce Bittar, Karrie Rufer, Hannah Heidegger, and Sydney Callaway.

The show experience included a red carpet, stilt walkers, French equestrian artist Clémence Faivre, art installations, live music, and more. “The show brought so many elements together: fashion, art, music, sport, celebrities,” Sophie commented. “It was a unique atmosphere that highlighted all of my favorite things about the equestrian world.” Sophie took second in the 1.20M Masters Grand Slam Trophy Jumping Competition aboard her Ottiva Des Hayettes. “For amateurs, it was an unprecedented opportunity to learn by observation and even discussion with these great riders and to test oneself at this level of competition and pressure. I can’t think of a better experience I’ve ever had, period.”
